President Mohamed Waheed will award Presidential Medals to students who achieved world’s top position at last year’s O Level exams. The newly introduced Presidential Medals will be given at a function to give awards to O Level top achievers, which will be held on Monday evening.
Five Maldivian students achieved world’s top position in various subjects this year.
The President announced the new award in the Presidential Address 2013. In the address, he had noted that as a result of the efforts of the previous year it was in 2012 that Maldivian schools by far achieved the biggest progress in O Level results.
