The cabinet has today advised President Dr Mohamed Waheed to review the salary structures of doctors in the medical profession and establish new salary frameworks.
The Cabinet made this recommendation after discussing a paper presented by Ministry of Health.
The cabinet advised the President to implement the new framework beginning 2014.
At the meeting, Members of the Cabinet discussed the challenges faced in bringing good doctors from the region for the current salary structure. They discussed further measures that could be undertaken to develop the health sector.
