President abolishes Department of Gender and Family Protection Services

President Dr Mohamed Waheed has abolished the Department of Gender and Family Protection Services, administered under the Ministry of Gender, Family and Human Rights.

The Department was abolished because a number of its functions relating to families, children, women and people with special needs are now performed by the Ministry of Gender, Family and Human Rights.
