New Ambassador of Afghanistan accredited to the Maldives, Shaida Mohammaad Abdali presented his letter of credence to President Dr Mohamed Waheed this morning.
At the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present the credentials, President Waheed congratulated Ambassador Abdali. Meeting the new Ambassador afterwards, the President and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations that exist between the two countries and ways to further strengthen ties.
Underscoring the endeavors of both the countries in consolidating democracy, President expressed interest in engaging with Afghanistan more in the area.
Ambassador Abdali reassured President Waheed of Afghanistan’s continuous support and cooperation to the Maldives.
