President Mohamed Nasheed has today proposed Mr Ali Rasheed Umar as the new Auditor General for approval by the People’s Majlis.
Mr Umar, who is a Chartered Certified Accountant, holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from the University of Liverpool.
He previously held the position of President of Anti-Corruption Commission and several other positions at the Anti-Corruption Board including Assignment Officer, Assistant Director, Deputy Director and Director.
