President Mohamed Nasheed has today met with Governor of New South Wales, Australia Professor Marie Bashir.
President Nasheed and the Governor discussed climate change and development challenges posed by climate change.
President also briefed the Governor on the social issues in the Maldives and measures the government was taking to address those issues.
Governor Bashir also agreed that climate change was an issue that needed urgent global action.
She also said New South Wales would assist the Maldives in every way possible in addressing social and environmental issues.
