President Dr Mohamed Waheed has sent a message of sympathy to President Abdul Hamid of the Republic of Bangladesh, following the collapse of a block, housing garment factories and shops, on Wednesday.
The President’s message to the Bangladeshi President reads as follows:
“I was deeply distressed to learn about the tragic loss of lives and grievous injury to dozens of people, following the collapse of a block housing garment factories and shops in Bangladesh.”
While the people of Bangladesh mourn this immense tragedy, the Government and the people of Maldives join me in extending our profound sympathy to you, the Government and the people of Bangladesh.”
“Please convey our heartfelt commiseration to the injured victims and the bereaved families.”
