WHO Regional Director calls on the President

Dr Samlee Plianbangchang, Regional Director of the World Health Organisation (WHO), South East Asian Regional Office (SEARO) has paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Waheed.

During the meeting held at the President’s office this afternoon, discussions were focused on the challenges faced in the health sector of the Maldives. Speaking at the meeting, President expressed gratitude for the contribution made, and support and cooperation received from WHO towards the development of the Maldives’ health sector.

Highlighting the progress made by the Maldives in the public health sector, Dr Plianbangchang reassured of WHO’s continuous support and cooperation to the Maldives.
