President Nasheed has, renamed Maldives Accreditation Board as Maldives Qualifications Authority.
The Authority will as a regulatory body and will be managed by an independent governing board under the Ministry of Education.
The government made this decision to regulate and standardise the higher education sector of the Maldives.
