President Mohamed Nasheed has said that the government’s plan was to deliver for the people in a sustainable manner. The President made this statement this evening while speaking with the people of Keyodhoo.

The President is currently on a tour to some islands of Felidhe atoll.

In his speech, the President shared information with the people on the decentralisation process. He said that a centralised government would obstruct the path to development.

Speaking on the developmental projects planned for the country, the President said that the projects to provide water, sewerage and electricity to the people would begin this year. In addition, he said that the government planned to build a harbour and flats in the island. These flats would be given on an instalment basis.

The President also spoke on the importance of having the right to freedom of expression. Speaking in this regard, the President said real development could be achieved effectively through criticisms.
