President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Ahmed Nasheed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Maldives National Skills Development Authority. The President made the appointment as per the stipulations of article 51a of the Maldives Higher Education Act (Act 7/2021). The position of CEO of the Maldives National Skills Development Authority is equal to the rank of Minister of State.
Ahmed Nasheed holds a Master of Engineering Science (Renewable Energy Engineering) from Curtin University of Technology, Australia. He has over 28 years of experience across a wide range of fields.
Prior to this appointment, Ahmed Nasheed served as the Minister of State for National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. He had also previously served as a Deputy Undersecretary at the President's Office and as the Chairman of South Central Utilities Limited.
