President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has dismissed Abdulla Munaz from the post of Commissioner of Prisons of the Maldives Correctional Service and appointed Ahmed Mohamed Fulhu to the position. Ahmed Mohamed Fulhu served as the Inspector of Correctional Service at the Ministry of Home Affairs prior to his new appointment.

The move was made under the Administration’s efforts to revise and improve correctional services and the prison system in the country. Ahmed Mohamed Fulhu holds a Masters in Social Policy and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations from the Maldives National University (MNU).

The appointment was made at the Deputy Minister level under Article 18 of the Prisons and Parole Act (Act: 14/2013).
