President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has held discussions with members of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) at a meeting held today at the President's Office.

During the meeting, the members of the ACC shared information on the cases they receive and elaborated on the process the commission takes to investigate a matter. They further explained the process the commission takes prior to requesting a project be halted. They further emphasised that the ACC is currently in discussion with Government agencies to formulate preventive measures against corruption, restating that their mandate is not only to investigate cases but also to serve as a deterrent to corruption through proactive action.

President Solih thanked the members of the ACC for their valuable contributions towards eliminating corruption within the Maldives, adding that no government official, including the President, should be allowed to influence the ACC. He also reiterated that 'zero tolerance for corruption' is a key policy of his administration and vital for good governance, and encouraged the members to take preventive measures and create further awareness regarding corruption.
