President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has today ratified the bill on Pesticides.
The bill was passed by the Parliament on Wednesday, 27th November 2019, at the 72nd sitting of the third session of the People’s Majlis.
Upon ratification, the Act has been published in the Government Gazette.
The Pesticides Act encompasses a wide range of elements including setting standards for the import, use, production, export and proper disposal of pesticides. The bill also includes best practices for the usage of pesticides correlating with health, wellness, environmental and ecological conservation.
