The Vice President met with the Haa Dhaalu Hanimaadhoo Council and members of the island's youth today. The meeting took place on the last leg of the Vice President's visit to several islands of South Thiladhunmathi Atoll.

During the meeting held at Hanimaadhoo Airport today, the Councillors expressed their grievances and suggestions for future development, such as the scarcity of resources despite upgrading Hanimaadhoo Airport to an international terminal, and requested solutions pertaining to road development, harbour development and shortage of human resources for the hospital and airport. The Councillors also noted difficulties with waste management and inquired on the administration's short and long term plans that may address these issues.

The Vice President remarked on the issues raised by the Councillors and youth, assuring that work is already underway to create short and long terms plans, and that all the suggestions and difficulties will be relayed to the relevant line ministries and authorities.

Following the meeting, the Vice President concluded the trip to South Thiladhunmathi Atoll and returned to Male'.
