President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has today ratified the Bill on Presidential Commissions.
The bill was approved by the Parliament on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at the 10th sitting of the second session of the People’s Majlis.
Ratification of this bill empowers two Presidential Commissions; the Commission on Deaths and Disappearances and Commission on Corruption and Asset Recovery.
As per the ratified bill, the two commissions now have the authority to summon and gather official statements from persons of interest and to request search and arrest warrants.
