President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has declared Sunday, 5th May 2019 as a government holiday following the upcoming Ramadan. The 1st day of Ramadan this Hijree Year (1440) will correspond to 6th of May on the Gregorian Calendar
On the directive issued by the President’s Office, it stated that the decision was made to give all citizens and Muslims resident in the Maldives time to make preparations for the beginning of the holy month. President Solih wishes everyone a happy Ramadan Kareem.
