Spouse of the Ambassador of India to Maldives Reeti Mishra has paid a courtesy call on First Lady Fazna Ahmed. The call was held at the Official Residence, Mulee-aage today.

During the call, discussions were held on the importance of creating awareness on the issue of mental health, and noted the need for a reliable support network for people with mental illnesses.

The First Lady also highlighted the shortage of trained personnel in catering for the education of children with special needs. She also exchanged views with Mrs. Mishra on ways to raise awareness in the society about focusing on the importance of strengthening the skills and engaging those with special needs within the community.

The First Lady and Mrs. Mishra further spoke on the importance of women’s empowerment, and also on enhancing cultural cooperation between the Maldives and India, through activities organized by the Indian Cultural Centre in Malé, including teaching Urdu, music and yoga.
