President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the L. Isdhoo Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) members to discuss the island's residents' concerns and most pressing issues. The meeting took place at the Secretariat of the Isdhoo Council.

During the meeting, Council members expressed satisfaction that the President visited Isdhoo within the first five months of his presidency and engaged with them. The Council members urged the Government to address the jurisdictional tensions in Isdhoo and find a peaceful solution for the residents of Isdhoo and Kalaidhoo.

The Council emphasised the need to develop an airport that efficiently serves the residents of Isdhoo, Kalaidhoo, and Dhanbidhoo. They also stressed the importance of upgrading healthcare facilities by upgrading the Isdhoo Health Centre into a hospital and enhancing banking services.

Furthermore, the Council emphasised the significance of enhancing the standard of education on the island, constructing the island port, relocating the channel on the island, and improving the quality of electricity and water supply.

In response, the President relayed the latest updates on the key issues raised by the Council through the Ministers present at the meeting.
