President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the K. Maafushi Island Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC) to discuss the crucial developmental plans and the challenges faced by residents. The meeting was held at the Secretariat of the Maafushi Council.

During the meeting, the Council highlighted the necessity for road construction in Maafushi, enhancement of hospital services, and the expansion of the harbour. Additionally, they requested reinforcing fire and rescue services at Maafushi Prison, upgrading the island's sewerage system, expediting the construction of the school's annex building, installing a dollar ATM service, and promptly establishing a mosque on reclaimed land.

At the meething, the Women's Development Committee (WDC) of Maafushi expressed their concerns to the President, specifically addressing the challenges arising from insufficient allowances for the WDC. They underscored the urgency of resolving waste management issues in Maafushi.

Assuring prompt action, President Dr Muizzu affirmed that the Administration would address the concerns raised by the Council. Updates on the issues were provided through Cabinet Ministers and senior Government officials present at the meeting.
