President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the V. Rakeedhoo Island Council members and the Women's Development Committee (WDC) at the Secretariat of Vaavu Atoll Council. Council Members proposed population consolidation of the residents.

Council Members formally requested the President to identify a suitable island for the relocation of the residential population, preferably in Malé Atoll. They emphasised the need for shore protection, more accessible transportation, sports development and a better work environment for the Council.

At the meeting, the President inquired about the location details for their request to relocate the residential population of Rakeedhoo Island. The President revealed that the Administration would work closely with the Council and the residents of Rakeedhoo Island to achieve this goal.

Council Members also expressed the urgency of providing essential services to the residential population and conveyed their most pertinent needs to the President.

President Dr Muizzu, along with the Ministers in attendance offered the latest updates on the Government's efforts to resolve the issues raised by the Council.
