President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the members of the South Nilandhe Atoll Council at the Secretariat of Dhaalu Atoll Council, to discuss the most crucial developmental needs for the Atoll.

During the meeting, the Council members emphasised the necessity of diversifying income-generating avenues in the islands, and facilitating local services for issuing national identification cards and passports without the need to travel to Male'. They also underscored the urgency of expediting the development of a fish processing factory.

Additionally, the Council Members expressed a desire to harness the economic potential of uninhabited islands in the Atoll for the benefit of local councils, addressing the need for improved waste management solutions, enhancing services at the Atoll Hospital, and strengthening the Atoll's transportation network.

During the meeting, President Dr Muizzu assured the Council members that he would address their concerns. He also provided the latest updates on the issues raised by the Council through the Cabinet Ministers and senior Government officials present.
