President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has sent messages to President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi, on the occasion of Pakistan Day.

In separate messages sent to the leaders, President Solih has extended warm greetings and good wishes to the President and Prime Minister, the Government and the brotherly people of Pakistan on the occasion of Pakistan Day, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives, and on his own behalf.

President Solih has noted in his messages, that the long-standing cordial ties of friendship and diplomatic partnership between the Maldives and Pakistan is built on shared values, mutual understanding and common interests, both in the bilateral and regional spheres. He has also reassured of his commitment to working together with the Government of Pakistan to further develop the brotherly relationship between the two countries.

Pakistan Day is marked on the 23 March, to commemorate the passing of the Lahore Resolution on 23 March 1940, which eventually led to the adoption of the first constitution of Pakistan on 23 March 1956.
