Vice President Faisal Naseem has urged the court of law to take the full responsibility in reviewing the judicial system and to establish an independent, transparent and steadfast court of law which follows the fundamentals of education and will ensure fairness and justice to the Maldivian people. He stated this while speaking at the opening ceremony of the "Conference on Judicial Independence and Reform" held this morning at Dharubaaruge.

During this ceremony, the Vice President said that the Constitution of the Maldives states that the Supreme Court is the highest court in the Maldivian judiciary and therefore, Supreme Court should be responsible and should have the capability to create a trustworthy judicial environment which is independent and fair in their undertakings of ensuring justice to the people of the Maldives. He further stated that this is the hope of all Maldivians.

Moreover, Vice President shed light on the importance of such conferences which would aid in the development and steadiness of the whole judicial system. He also expressed gratitude to the Maldives Judicial academy under the Supreme Court for the work they do to promote such undertakings.

Speaking in this regard, Vice President stated that there won’t be peace in any society where there is unfairness and that justice will only prevail in any country if that country gives justice to everyone. He further stated that this proves the mightiness of the responsibility of the court of law in achieving an impartial community.
