President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the Council members of the Innamaadhoo Island Council this afternoon at the President’s Office.

During this meeting, the members of the Council briefed the President on the administration of the Council and informed the President on the challenges faced in carrying out the work of the Council. Moreover, they briefed the President on the aspirations and requests of the people of Innamaadhoo Island in developing the community.

The Council members emphasized that their top priority is to build a modern mosque near the harbor area. The Council members also noted that they have already arranged funds through a fundraising event and requested the President to help them in arranging the remaining finance from the government budget and to help them to build the Mosque. 

The other pending requirement highlighted was the development of sewerage system. Additionally, issues such as electricity problems and boat building problems were also highlighted. The Council also noted some requirements to other Raa Atoll Island and requested the President to look into these matters and find a solution to these concerns.

Speaking at the meeting President Solih stated that these meetings have brought to light many issues and concerns of the people and that the government would take necessary action after discussing with the line ministries and tackle these problems.
