President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Shafiu Ali as Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs.
Shafiu Ali has previously served in the education sector, as a secondary teacher and higher secondary teacher at the Gn. Atoll Education Centre, and as leading teacher at the centre. He has also served as the principal of Ideal School of Fuvammulah City.
Shafiu Ali has attained Bachelor of Teaching – Secondary from the Maldives National University.
