President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has extended condolences to the family of late Ibrahim Rasheed upon his demise. The President met with the family of late Ibrahim Rasheed earlier this evening, at the Maafannu Cemetery.
Late Ibrahim Rasheed passed away at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital late Sunday evening, at the age of 79 years. He has served the Maldivian government for over 50 years since joining the government on 13 January 1955. He has served at various senior level posts.
The last post filled by late Ibrahim Rasheed was as Assistant Executive Director at the Ministry of Home Affairs, until his retirement on 23 March 2006.
The late Ibrahim Rasheed is survived by two sons and four daughters.
