President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a congratulatory message to
Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina on her assumption of office as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
The President’s message reads as follows:
“I am writing to convey warm felicitations on your assumption of the office of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.”
“The Maldives and Bangladesh enjoy friendly relations and I look forward to cooperating with you on matters of common interest for the mutual benefit of our two countries. Let me also take this opportunity to assure the Government of Bangladesh of the Maldives’ firm support in efforts to strengthen and consolidate democratic governance and democratic institutions in the country.”
