President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Manik and Mr. Ahmed Munawar as Ministers of State for Finance and Treasury.
Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Manik had previously served as Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury.
Mr. Ahmed Munawar holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Finance, from the International Islamic University Malaysia; and his Master’s Degree in Economics and Finance with a major in Monetary Economics, was earned from Macquarie University, Australia. Mr. Ahmed Munawar had previously served at the Maldives Monetary Authority for over ten years.
