Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has this morning signed the Book of Condolences placed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, following the passing away of former South African President Nelson Mandela.

In his message, Vice President Jameel wrote that the world thanks Mandela for championing the cause of protecting human rights, civil liberties and equality. He stated that Mandela has left a legacy that will strengthen the rights of all human beings regardless of the colour of their skin, origin and faith.

He also expressed hope that the world would continue to cherish and learn from Mandela’s life.
