President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has said that the government attached a high priority to increase youth participation and gain the confidence of youth. The President made this remark, while speaking at a ceremony held at the President’s Office this morning to appoint three new Ministers to the Cabinet.

In his speech, the President said policies and programs regarding youth would be a major area in the government’s 100 day roadmap and that the confidence of youth was important for the government to provide services to the people.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Yameen appealed to the newly appointed Ministers to work diligently in fulfilling the PPM manifesto. He expressed hope that his cabinet would be proactive, and serve the people with utmost sincerity.

The President also highlighted some areas that require reform and further development.
