Commonwealth Secretary General’s special envoy Sir Donald McKinnon has paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Waheed.

At the meeting, discussions were focused on current political situation of the country, following the presidential election which was held on 7th September.

President Waheed underscored that it was the government’s hope to peacefully resolve the irregularities in the voting process of the first round. He further assured the Special Envoy that the government would put in every effort to maintain peace and stability in the country.
