President Dr Mohamed Waheed has met with President Mohamed Nasheed. The meeting was held last night at Mulee-aage, at the request of President Nasheed.
Discussions at the meeting were mainly focused on the presidential elections.
Speaking at the meeting, President Nasheed expressed concern over the delay in declaring a date for the election.
President Waheed expressed hope that the Supreme Court would issue a ruling on the matter soon. He assured that he would ensure a smooth transfer of power to the winning candidate.
He also said he was hopeful that a peaceful and democratic election would be held in the Maldives soon, and calm and harmony would prevail in the country.
