President Dr Mohamed Waheed has today returned the Prison and Parole Bill, to the People’s Majlis for reconsideration.
The Bill was passed by the People’s Majlis on August 29, 2013.
In a letter sent to the Speaker of the People’s Majlis returning the Bill, the President detailed the main issues noted by the Attorney General regarding the Bill. He also requested the Speaker of the Parliament for further review and modification of the bill, with consideration of the points noted by the Attorney General.
The Bill was previously returned to the People’s Majlis for reconsideration on 15 May 2013.
