President Dr Mohamed Waheed has said 66 km roads would be constructed in 10 islands, under the road construction project which was initiated about two years ago. He made this remark while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Vilufushi road construction project.
The President also noted that this road construction project was the largest such project since Male’ road development project.
In his speech, President Waheed noted that road development of Kulhudhuffushi and islands of Addu City were currently underway. He also said road construction of Haddhunmathi Gan would soon commence.
In addition, 6 km roads will be constructed in Gaafu Alifu Vilingili, 8 km roads in Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo, and 6 km roads in Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo. 6 km roads in Haa Dhaalu Hanimaadhoo, and 4 km roads in Haa Alifu Dhiddhoo will also be constructed under the project.
