President Dr Mohamed Waheed and First Lady Madam Ilham Hussain have arrived back in Male’ this evening, following the conclusion of their official visit to Sri Lanka.
During his visit, President Waheed met with President Mahinda Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka, and discussed issues of mutual interest.
The President also announced, during his visit, national health insurance coverage for those Maldivians holding a resident visa in any country with an empanelled hospital of Aasandha. The announcement was made Friday evening, in his remarks at a music show of Maldivian band Olympians, held at Sosun Villa, Colombo.
As part of his trip, President Waheed visited the Maldivian patients at Lanka Hospitals. Later on he also met with the senior officials of the hospital.
Furthermore, he met with the Maldivian community living in Sri Lanka.
