On the occasion of this year’s Poets’ Day, President Nasheed has been presented with the 11th volume of “Satheyka Raivaru”. The volume was presented to the President by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr Mohamed Thoriq, at a ceremony held today at the President’s Office.

The ceremony was also attended by Mr Madulu Mohamed Waheed, Special Advisor at the National Centre for Linguistic and Historical Research; Mr Abdulla Sodiq, Consultant at the Centre;
Dr Farahanaz Faisal who hosts and manages a website on Maldivian poems; and Ms Shahuma Ali, Secretary at the Centre.

Speaking at the ceremony, the President thanked the senior officials and staff of the National Centre for Linguistic and Historical Research for launching the 11th volume of “Satheyka Raivaru”.

The President also said that the government planned to publish the ‘Faiythoora’, the monthly linguistic magazine of National Centre for Linguistic and Historical Research, in English as well as in Dhivehi. Further, he said that he planned to appoint Mr Madulu Mohamed Waheed and Dr Farahanaz Faisal as co-editors of ‘Faiythoora”.
